Proper Format for a Report

Here are some general rules for formatting reports:

 

  • Use simple fonts like Times New Roman or Arial. Fonts like this make a report look professional.


  • Number all of the pages in the report.


  • The Page Orientation should be Portrait


  • Double space the document


  • The top margin should be 2 inches, the rest of the margins (Bottom, Left, and Right) should be 1 inch


  • Proofread the report before turning it in to an instructor or an employer. There should be no spelling mistakes or typos.
