Here are some things to check for when you're checking the capitalization in a document:

Each sentence begins with a capital letter.

Make sure that each sentence in the cover letter begins with a capital letter, and that the greeting and signature of the letter are capitalized, too.

Proper nouns begin with capital letters.

Words like people's first or last names, company names, the names of cities or states, the word "I," and other important words should always be capitalized. These types of words are proper nouns.

If you're not sure whether a word should be capitalized, you can look it up in a dictionary or search the Internet for information about it.

Words that aren't at the beginning of the sentences and aren't proper nouns are not capitalized.

If a word isn't at the beginning of a sentence, or isn't a proper noun, that word should not be capitalized.
