While adding an effect between slides in a presentation is called transition, adding movement effects to the objects on a slide is referred to as animation.

It is important to note that transition and animation are not the same.  Sometimes it is not appropriate to add animation to every slide, while it may look good to add transitions between every slide.

In your practice presentation, we will add transitions between every slide, but only 1 animation effect on the second slide.
