While it is tempting to use the Internet to find any old image that would look great on your slide, it’s important that you understand that copyright laws protect much of the material found on the web.

This means that you need permission to use many of the pictures that you come across while searching the Internet.

Unless the picture is not copyright-protected, you need to ask the person who created it if you can use it.  Bet you didn't know that before!  How many times have you copied a picture from Google?  If you copied a picture without permission, you actually were using it illegally!

If you are unsure whether an image is protected by copyright, it is best to not use it.

Your Google presentation has a built-in image search feature that only searches for images which are labeled for commercial reuse, which means you can use them in your presentation without worry!
